Eliminate heat soak problems with the Coolingmist Intercooler spray kit.

Unlike water/methanol injection, this kit cools any cooler via evaporation from the outside. It differs from cryo (i.e. "freezing gas") spray in that it eliminates heat build up over time vs. intervening briefly at the last second. This makes it valuable for hard street, rally, and some drag strip duty.

While under boost, an intercooler functions mostly as a heatsink. Intake air raises core temperature faster than the core can radiate it back into the atmosphere. Heat steadily "soaks" the core and reduces intercooling in the process. After a point, the intercooler stops cooling the air completely. IATs soar and performance drops. Coolingmist cooler spray steps up your game with a plumbing package designed for distilled water (hot summer), windshield washer fluid (all season), or typical 50/50 water/meth injection brew (cold winter).

Kits come standard with a total of seven spray points for even distribution across the cooler's frontal area. Plumbing may be attached to the inside of a bumper skin, through grill slats, or attached to the bumper rebar with great ease and functional convenience. The further the spray points are from the cooler surface, the better it works.

The system has various options in activation from a simple on/off switch or the use of a 2-10psi boost switch for activation when on boost, there is also the activation Display allowing the driver to be informed of system activation, low pressure and low level faults during use.

This display is not suited specifically to a particular vehicle and is therefore Universal as the system also includes a range of nozzles to allow you to reach optimal results on the intended platform.

This system also includes a Fluid Level and System Pressure monitoring unit for the detection and warning of low fluid levels and system pressure faults.

HOW MUCH CAN AIR TEMP EFFECT PERFORMANCE YOU ASK???

From the table below, you will note that air at 0C contains almost 30% more oxygen per given volume, than air at 77C.

Air Temperature
Air Density
% increase of oxygen

77C
0.9950 kg/m^3

40C
1.113 kg/m^3
+ 12% oxygen

27C
1.1614 kg/m^3
+ 17% oxygen

0C
1.2763 kg/m^3
+ 28% oxygen

So if your car is tuned for say 12.0:1 fuel mixture (rich) for maximum power and the air going into your engine is at 77C, you might make say 241bhp @ wheels. Now if you could get that intake air down to 0C and still have your engine tuned at 12.0:1 fuel mixture, you will make 30% more power based simply on oxygen levels in the air = 241bhp @ wheels x 1.3 = 314bhp @ wheels. That’s a massive 73bhp increase!!! Now obviously, unless your using dry ice somewhere along your intake path, you won’t get the air to 0C, but that is just to give you an indication of the true effects of air temps and their relation to power output.
